I read this over and over again on your website and it is not understanable that the government does not anythin about it to solve this situation. I am sure, if this place would be close to a tourist area, it would have been solved already. Big shame.

Holaa, estoy interesada en adoptar un caballo para mi, y otro para estar cuidado en la cuadra donde llevaría el mio, los dueños de la cuadra en la que colaboro, acogen caballos heridos y maltratados hasta su rehabilitación y saneamiento, y luego se los quedan ellos. He hablado con ellos y dicen querer adoptar uno para que tenga un hogar con más caballos y cuidados especiales. Espero pronto su respuesta para las dos opciones, gracias.

My family recently visited the Costa del Sol and we went to the annual Fiesta de Malaga on Wednesday 18th August. Found it very interesting but my wife and I were shocked & very saddened when we went to the amusement park part of hte Fiesta. Apart from the usual rides there were 2 carousels with real live donkeys (instead of the pretend version) - a smaller one and a larger one. The donkeys were going round and round the ride in tight formation (possibly 12 donkeys on the larger carousel), tied up to the ceiling and with little room for movement - they looked miserable and exhausted. The ride mnay have gone on for hours and hours. It was extremely noisy, busy and flashing lights everywhere. This is a world-famous fiesta but we were left disgusted by the treatment of these poor animals. I hope you can look into it so that it is not repeated in future fiestas and that the company operating these rides is not able to continue operating them - a pretend carousel with wooden or plastic horses is perfectly good fun - no need to traumatise real animals.

I live in Mijas and am constantly disgusted by the treatment of the Donkeys in the town. The handlers are just a bunch of lazy men who sit in the shade every day and make money from the animals that are abused on a daily basis. Tourists should also be ashamed of themselves, i can look down on the street at any time and see oversized tourists sitting on top of these animals, parents happy to take photos of their children taking part in the abuse. I know spanish are behind the times when it comes to treatment of animals but many foreign tourists are just as bad for allowing the practice to continue and keeping the handlers in easy profitable jobs. Forget getting the mayor to do anything, he doesn’t give a shit. The only way to stop this practice is to shame tourists into not using the donkey taxis.

Hola, me ha sorprendido lo bien que esta todo organizado, yo colaboro con la protectora de animales de la Linea y la verdad es que no esta tan bien aunque ellos tienen su pagina web y los perros, gatos, caballos, burros… encuentran casa normalmente para Holanda, Alemania… la verdad es que me gustaría trabajar para ustedes, tengo 2 años de experiencia como auxiliar veterinario, además de los 3 años en colaboración con la protectora, y varios meses de monta, cuidado y alimentación de équidos. Si estan interesados puedo mandarles el curriculum, espero pronto una respuesta. Gracias.
Si se pueden adoptar caballos me gustaría saber como sería.

Hola,
Me ha llamado una amiga que viaja por carretera mucho y no tiene mucho tiempo para hacer denuncias etc.
Ella ha pasado por la Carretera Malaga - Granada A92M varios veces en las ultimas semanas y en dirección Granada ha visto entre el km 6 y 7 3 caballos atados en un campo sin sombra ni agua visible. Estamos en Agosto y hace muchísimo calor en esa zona y no se hay que llamar al Seprona o si vuestra asociación puede hacer algo o por lo menos mandar a alguien a comprobar la situación de estos 3 caballos. Yo no tengo coche y tengo mi trabajo y mis hijos que atender así que no tengo medios para resolver esto.
Por favor, ayúdame con esto lo antes posible, o dicerme a quienes debo acvudir.

I have just returned from a trip to spain. I visited Mijas a few days ago and was heartbroken at the sight of the donkeys there as well as the horses! In particular the donkeys would be tightly fastened to the poles in the searing heat with no access to water! Are there any petitions going around to at least get the ball rolling? a lot of their feet were overgrown and very lame when they walked. At least some shade and water should be provided to make their lives slightly more bareable!
Is there anything that can be done?

I have just come back from Mijas..I was saddened by what I saw..donkey’s were being mistreated..it’s a disgrace when a animal as beautiful as this has to suffer..!!..please something needs to be done
